It's Monday! and I am at it again, back in my kitchen reinventing the wheel - or well just infusing my oats with different flavours. This morning I'm kicking things off with a flavour explosion: warm pot oats cooked with zesty lemon and a cardamom pod. Oh so heavenly! Oh so delicious! It's like dessert - and what better way to start the morning than with a sweet thing, sweet thang!
Okay I am done torturing you with my cheesy lines (not really but I will save them for my upcoming blog posts).
80 ml of raw oats (not instant)
100ml of milk
100ml of water
1 cardamom pod
1/2 teaspoon grated zest of lemon
1 teapoon of honey
Place a pan on a high heat and pour in the water, milk and oats.
Grate in the lemon zest and pop in the cardamom pod.
Add honey and bring to the boil, lower the heat to a medium temperature and simmer for 3 minutes until oats are thick.
