The Braai Room by Country Meat
So you got that 'braai meat' craving in the middle of the week, I mean look you probably have in the weekends too- but then you can pulled out the braai and invite a few friends over for a boerie roll and your moms secret recipe potato salad. OR you can head on over to The Braai Room . A specialty restaurant that cooks the meat over an open flame, to get that classic charred taste.
You can order your meat wet aged or dry aged. Wet aged means your meat has been marinated in a sauce and dry aged means it has been rubbed down with spices and left to rest before cooking. Either way your meat will be delicious!
On recommendation from a friend, we had to try the crispy pork belly nuggets served with a tangy mango chutney.
(in this case I'm your friend) and I'm telling you that these are a must try.
Now what's the point of going to a meat restaurant and not trying their fillet?! Perfectly cooked - medium rare- with a chimichurri sauce (think Argentinian pesto), a medley of roasted vegetables, and a braai broodjie (a toasted cheese, tomato and onion sandwich that has been toasted on the braai).
The next must try, was the burger - you can tell a lot about a restaurant by the Burger! We had the mushroom and blue cheese burger, a 200g dry-aged beef patty topped with tomatoes, pickles and red onions and hand cut chips.
